The Treebanked Conspiracy: actors and actions in Bellum Catilinae

In the context of the Index Thomisticus Treebank project we have recently enhanced with a semantic and pragmatic layer of annotation the the entire text of "Bellum Catilinae" by Sallust provided by the Latin Dependency Treebank. This new layer of annotation includes semantic role labeling, ellipsis and coreference resolution, and information structure. By exploiting such meta-data, my talk discusses the distribution of actions and actors in "Bellum Catilinae". Methods and techniques of network analysis and hierarchical clustering are used to both process data and to visualize results.
